Sasha Banks Vs. Charlotte Will Be The Main Event Of WWE Hell In A Cell

WWE Raw Women’s Champion Sasha Banks is apparently addicted to making history. She was part of the first NXT live special main event, part of the first WWE Iron Woman match, and is going to be part of the first-ever women’s Hell in a Cell match as she defends her title against Charlotte in two weeks at the next WWE pay-per-view. And on Tuesday, Mick Foley dropped a bombshell on the entire WWE Universe: for the first time ever, a women’s match will main event a WWE PPV. It’s happening. It’s for-real, actually happening.

Foly posted the following on Facebook Tuesday:

CHILLS
Forget for a moment about Stephanie McMahon’s jumping high-five or my awkward attempt to hug the #RAW Comissioner. The biggest moment of the night for us came when the #WWE cameras were off, and Stephanie and I just looked at the #HIAC poster, realizing that for #WomensWrestling, history is upon us – as Sasha Banks and Charlotte will main event the #HIAC PPV. I am so happy for Sasha, for Charlotte, for all the women who paved the way, and all those who aspire to follow in their footsteps. It is no exaggeration to say that looking at that poster gave me chills…and they were multiplying.

There will be three different Hell in a Cell matches at the eponymous PPV. Roman Reigns will defend his United States Championship against Rusev and Kevin Owens will defend his WWE Universal Championship against Seth Rollins in the structure. But it’s safe to say that the Cell match that is intriguing the most fans is the first-ever women’s Hell in a Cell match — no matter what Eric Bischoff says.

As if the pressure wasn’t on Banks and Charlotte before, now they’ll REALLY have to steal the show. But you know that they’ll be up for the challenge. The only question is … exactly WHAT is Charlotte going to do a crazy dive off of? Oh great, now I’m nervous.
