Mickie James Is ‘Completely Open’ To A Full-Time WWE Main Roster Return

NXT TakeOver: Toronto is this Saturday, and one of the top matches will be Asuka defending the NXT Women’s Championship against Mickie James, who is making her return to WWE after six years away. In the interim, she was mostly in TNA, and may or may not have been murdered with a train. So it’s probably good to be back.

For now, James’ appearance is meant to be a one-time deal, with no current plans in place for a longer-term contract, but that could certainly change. It would seem like this would be the perfect time to bring Mickie back into the main roster fold (or even the NXT fold), as the women’s rosters are a little thin on all three brands, especially on Raw and Smackdown.

In an appearance on the TJR Wrestling Podcast this week, Mickie was asked about whether she would return to the main roster full-time if WWE happened to make the offer.

“Absolutely I would be completely open to being on WWE’s main roster again. I also recognize that people talk about WWE’s young talent and they’re all hungry and I totally agree with that because there’s a lot of amazing talent that’s both signed and unsigned. I feel like there’s something unique, special and different that I can bring to the roster.”

She had nothing but good things to say about the current product — particularly NXT — and said she would love to mix it up with Charlotte Flair for the Raw Women’s Championship. It’s possible that TakeOver will be an “audition” for her, but I think very few fans would be upset if Mickie James returned to WWE for good.
