Tonight, on the With Spandex WWE Smackdown Live open discussion thread for September 6, 2016:

On the final SmackDown LIVE before Backlash, who will advance to the finals of the SmackDown Tag Team Title tournament finals? Plus, will the growing conflict between WWE World Champion Dean Ambrose and his No. 1 contender AJ Styles bring SmackDown to a state of bedlam? — via WWE.com

Our five-point preview:

1. It’s the Tag Team Title Tournament semifinals, with American Alpha against The Usos, and The Hype Bros facing off against Heath Slater and passionate supporter of community public pools Rhyno. Will Rhyno keep his eye on the prize, or will he get distracted thinking about how to balance Michigan’s state budget? And why doesn’t he just tell Kurt Angle that the Hype Bros don’t care about the House of Representatives then watch him rip their ankles off? What a WWE return that would be!

2. AJ Styles has proclaimed himself “The Face That Runs the Place” because he’s way more into rhyming than he is getting his little AJ makers mashed up. Will Dean Ambrose be able to fend him off until Backlash, or will they not be able to keep their hands off of one another like that one photoshop we saw on the darker side of Tumblr?

3. Six-Pack Challenge at Backlash has all of the women on Smackdown fighting to prove they’re the best. Will there be a decisive favorite before Sunday’s pay-per-view, or will Carmella gloriously merc Nikki Bella again and again? That one, probably.

4. Will Bray Wyatt get out of his rocking chair and try to take down Randy Orton before their big match? Will Bray Wyatt get out of Randy Orton’s dreams and get into his car? Who wants to listen to a bunch of Billy Ocean hits instead?

5. Dolph Ziggler predictably interjected himself into someone else’s confrontation when he decided to call The Miz a coward, just like Daniel Bryan. Will the Miz’s streak of hot fire promos and newfound aggression towards Daniel Bryan continue, or will Ziggs wet-blanket himself into a match on Sunday?
