The Young Bucks Think It Would Be ‘Dumb’ To Sign With WWE At This Point In Their Careers

Things are going pretty well for Matt and Nick Jackson right about now. In addition to the success The Young Bucks have had inside the squared circle, the brothers have the highly-anticipated event All In coming up a little later this year. It sold out in less than an hour and will feature appearances by [insert name of pro wrestler or, perhaps, CM Punk here].

Basically, the Bucks are on fire right now, which means it’s time for the latest edition of “Hey, When Are The Young Bucks Going To End Up In WWE?” Right now, the answer appears to be “not any time soon.”

The pair appeared on the latest edition of Talk Is Jericho, and Matt made it clear that they don’t see the upside to signing a deal with WWE any time soon. In fact, he went as far as to call it “dumb” for them to do that.

“If we left right now [for WWE], it would be kind of dumb of us because they couldn’t pay us what we’re making right now, not with the schedule we’re on too,” Matt said, per Wrestling Inc. “There’s no way. Of course they could [afford the pay]! Do you know what I mean? I just don’t think they would!”

Matt also explained that they’d be hesitant to turn over “the keys to the car” when they control everything they do, and that WWE’s history with tag teams being top guys isn’t exactly sterling.

“Historically, tag teams aren’t the main feature there, so I mean, would you say The Hardy Boyz were the last big [WWE tag team]?” Matt said. “Yes, so it’s like, ‘well, do you want to put in 10 years there to get to the point of where the Hardys were?'”

It doesn’t seem like WWE is in “now or never” mode to get The Young Bucks on board, but past comments by the brothers indicate that time might be coming. We’ll see what happens the next time the pair become free agents, but for now, they sound perfectly content with their current situation.
