National treasure Betty White was a welcomed surprise at VH1 Hip Hop Honors: All Hail The Queens Monday night. The surviving Golden Girl paid one hilarious tribute to rap icon Queen Latifah by doing a dramatic reading of the female MC’s 1993 Grammy award winning female empowerment single, “U.N.I.T.Y.”
“Who you callin’ a b*tch?” the 94-year-old demanded to know in the pre-recorded video played during Queen’s tribute. “I walked past these dudes when they passed me one of ’em felt my booty, he was nasty. Since he was with his boys he tried to break fly. Ha, I punched him dead in his eye.” The 94-year-old actress then reminisced about the glory days of rap, stating, “they don’t write ’em like that anymore.” No, Betty. They sure don’t!
Betty White’s love affair with hip-hop is well documented so it’s shouldn’t be too surprising that she would recite Queen Latifah’s “U.N.I.T.Y.” A couple of years ago, the living legend kicked a few rhymes with Troy and Abed on Community. She also later released “I’m So Hot,” her outrageously crazy rap video featuring electro superstar Luciana. And let’s not forget that time she schooled Nick Cannon on who was responible for putting Frank Ocean on after the success of “No Church In The Wild.”
