Earlier today, The President of the United States of America, Donald Trump took to Twitter alleging that Snoop Dogg might’ve received jail time for his recent music video antics if he had tried them under President Obama. After an extended wait, The Doggfather has issued his response.
“Now ya’ll want to ask me questions and interview me but guess what, I’ve got nothing to say mate,” says Snoop.
At the heart of Trump’s ire was the music video “Lavender,” a take on the on the BADBADNOTGOOD and Kaytranada’s ‘IV’ single. At the end of the clip, Snoop pulls out a gun and points it at the head of a clown made up to look like Donald Trump. When he pulls the trigger however, the only thing that pops out of the barrel is a “Bang” flag. Needless to say, the Commander in Chief didn’t find the humor in the video.
Can you imagine what the outcry would be if @SnoopDogg, failing career and all, had aimed and fired the gun at President Obama? Jail time!

Before this whole brouhaha kicked off, Snoop told Billboard that, “When I be putting sh*t out, I don’t ever expect or look for a reaction. I just put it out because I feel like it’s something that’s missing. Any time I drop something, I’m trying to fill in a void.” Adding, “When I watch it against other music videos, this one has a message and a story. It looks like a film. I’m just proud of the entire piece altogether.”
Whether he was looking for or not, Snoop certainly got a bigger reaction than he probably ever could’ve imagined. Check out “Lavender” below.
