At its best, the NHL has the most exciting postseason in all of North American sports. Nothing is more enthralling than watching a back-and-forth hockey game during the playoffs โ it’s the sports version of going on a roller coaster.
Every year, it seems like a number of people get into hockey solely because of the excitement of the playoffs, so it’s not unusual to see someone tweet about their newfound love of hockey during an exciting game. However, we’ve never seen someone get into hockey with the sameย enthusiasm that Twitter user @soloucity did. A St. Louis sports fan, Tony X. needed something to fill the void left by the Rams’ leaving for Los Angeles. He found that on Monday night, when he watched the Blues win its must-win Game 7 against the Blackhawks, 3-2.
Rams left me …….. @StLouisBlues saved me ๐ https://t.co/SIlJ5heFjb

Here are a collection of a few of his tweets. We cannot recommend enough that you go through his entire timeline, but these were some of the standouts. We’d also like to warn you that Tony’s newfound passion led to some NSFW language.
Yo deadass this the first time I've ever watched hockey and this shit has been LIT for these first 45 seconds

By the end of the night, Tony became a fan of the Blues and the sport.

Speaking of baseball, Tony actually got into hockey because he was looking for the Cardinals game last night and accidentally found what appears to be his new favorite sport.
funny thing about all this is…i turned to fs midwest to watch the cardinals game but the blues were on and shit got REAL.

The best part of all of this is that the Blues caught on and decided to reach out to their new biggest fan. In fact, the team decided to offer Tony tickets to its first home game of the next round, and as you can guess, Tony didn’t hesitate to accept. He did, however, want to know what the proper attire is for a person attending a hockey game.

If you take anything away from this, it’s that you should always be willing to try out new things. That’s what Tony did, and it led to him finding a new favorite sport and getting free tickets to a playoff hockey game.
