CM Punk Took Shots At ‘Bandwagon Fan’ LeBron James During The Cubs World Series Parade

We all know that CM Punk is a massive fan of all things Chicago sports, so you know he’s pretty damn pleased about the Cubs winning the World Series. Of course, during the city’s huge celebration parade, Punk took it upon himself to call out LeBron James, who he feels was nothing more than an Indians bandwagon fan during the Series.

For some strange reason, the World Series parade was co-hosted locally on Chicago television by Cubs superfans John Cusack and CM Punk. (I smell a Grosse Pointe Blank sequel!) During the parade, Punk took control of the conversation and steered it toward LeBron, which you can hear in the video above. This is what he had to say:

“Let’s talk about LeBron James for a second, here. He’s a guy who was criticized because maybe six months ago, he was at an Indians game and he was wearing a Yankees hat. Proudly. He takes it off his head and he shows everybody. I don’t know what he’s thinking … To wear a Yankees hat while going to an Indians game, to me, is kind of crazy. Now all of a sudden, LeBron James is all ‘Cleveland against the world.’ I think he kind of jinxed his team a little bit, because [the Cavs] went so hard in on the ‘Golden State blew the 3-1 lead.’ And then the Indians … “

Punk is hardly the first person to call out LeBron for repping the Indians so hard after being an avowed Yankees fan for years. But the good news for James is that it’ll make his lost bet against Dwyane Wade sting a lot less. Also, how perfectly CM Punk is it that the guy can’t just enjoy his team’s first World Series parade in his lifetime without taking unprovoked jabs at people? Best in the world.
