Dean Ambrose defends the WWE Championship against Seth Rollins on a potentially historic Raw just 24 hours before SmackDown Live and the WWE Brand Extension Draft change the landscape of WWE forever. Plus, the show will kick off with Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon and SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon announcing who will be their respective brand’s General Managers! (via WWE.com)
Our five-point preview:
1. Tonight, the Raw and Smackdown commissioners choose their respective general managers. The Smackdown GM has probably already been spoiled and the Raw GM is Triple H unless Stephanie McMahon has suddenly forgot she’s married to a power-hungry dude, so … let’s get hype!
2. The Lucha Dragons announced that they’re splitting up, via a post on Facebook live:
So yes, what that means is that Sin Cara actually managed to botch the Draft by splitting up the team before a draft pick could.
3. Seth Rollins gets his one-on-one shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship tonight, and Roman Reigns is still suspended so there’s a low chance of the normal triple threat booking. Maybe J&J Security will return and help him win? Kane will crawl up through the ring?
4. They should bring on Edge and Christian to do a “will WWE talk about it?” gag with the UFC Brock Lesnar doping violation.
5. Tomorrow is the draft, so tonight is your last chance to see some of your favorite stars on Raw. At least until they just show up and we’re not supposed to care how draft exclusivity works, and then again in a few years when they decide they want all the best people on every show again.
