Miesha Tate is currently the No. 3-ranked women’s fighter in the UFC, dating back to her loss to Cat Zingano at The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale, but thanks to Zingano’s unfortunate knee injury, Tate will still go on to coach opposite Ronda Rousey on the upcoming TUF 18 season. So when Tate was asked by EsNews at some point after the ESPYs if she had anything she wanted to say to Rousey, she was actually thankful and appreciative for the champion, as she said that Rousey provides her with the inspiration to train harder and be a better fighter.
Then, the ESPY winners for Biggest Upset showed up at the end of Tate’s interview to throw a little game at her. One of the members of the Florida Gulf Coast University men’s basketball team told Tate that he’s “love to get a piece of it,” to which she responded that he “wouldn’t remember it.” But it was all in good fun, as Romeo told her he was just kidding.
Still, for fun, she should have put him in an arm bar and made him scream for mercy.
