Is This A Leaked iPhone 7 Next To The iPhone 6s?

Rumors have been swirling about the iPhone 7, which for all its supposed minor tweaks is turning out to have some major differences. A new video posted to Weibo and shared widely by Mac fans would seem to indicate the rumors are true. But is this really the iPhone 7?

Before we analyze this video, as always with Apple rumors, keep your salt shaker handy. The iPhone has a long history of hoaxes and although this lines up with what we’ve seen elsewhere, remember that we live in a world where jerks have access to 3D printers.

That said, if this is a fake, it’s quite a convincing one. Once again, the headphone jack is nowhere to be seen, this time replaced with a second speaker. The redesigned antenna lines now wrap around the edge of the phone instead of running through the back, which annoyed design purists to no end. And, of course, that larger camera bump is there to enrage people who want their phone to lie perfectly flat. This is, if nothing else, credibly something Apple would put out as a product.

The larger question, of course, is whether this is legit. But we won’t have to wait very long to find out: Apple generally announces new iPhones in the fall, and it’s expected we’ll learn about the iPhone 7 in September.
