Donald Trump is running for President; you know that. He is causing a ruckus while running for President; you probably know that as well. But Donald Trump also was once in a hair metal band’s music video. You most likely did not know that.

Jay Pritzker, founder of Hyatt Hotels, had a son who co-owned a record label. Precious Metal was an act on the label and, in 1990, through the elder Pritzker’s connections, the group talked Donald Trump into appearing in the video for “Mr. Big Stuff,” a song off of their self-titled album. Given the events of this past week alone, the fact that the shoot ended up becoming somewhat of a train wreck, due in large part to Trump’s actions, shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.

Yet if not for the randomness of eBay, the story of Trump and Precious Metal would be nothing more than a footnote in the Donald Trump story. Nico Pitney, a Senior Editor at Huffington Post, came across a black and white photo featuring Trump and the band on the site, currently being auctioned off for the amazing and massive price of $9.97. The photo spurred Pitney to learn more, seeking out Precious Metal’s guitarist Janet Robin, who has long since moved on to a solo career.

Again, not something that should come as much of a surprise, Robin says that Trump was “friendly and jovial, verging on piggish.”

“I was very young, I was 23 years old or something like that. I had a moment with him where he put his hands around me, his arms around me ― not around my shoulder but around, you know, my stomach area or whatever you want to call it. I thought that was a little strange. With his arm around her, Trump said, ‘Oh my god, Janet, you have a tight body,’ she recalled.”

To be clear, Trump didn’t go any further with Robin, but she still felt he acted inappropriately.

He then continued to act inappropriately. When filming was done, Trump wasn’t onboard with it being aired on MTV, which you know, defeated the purpose of filming a music video in 1990.

“He had originally agreed to appear if the band gave $10,000 to charity. Now he wanted $250,000, and he would decide who received the money.”

You know, Trump is all about donating money to charity*

*allegedly

Neither Precious Metal nor their label could afford Trump’s new price tag. As a result, they were forced to do a re-shoot, using a Trump look-alike as opposed to the real thing.

Man, if only the Republican party could do the same thing.
