The Undertaker Has A Match At SummerSlam, And Maybe An Opponent

WWE

After the Undertaker’s surprise return on Monday Night Raw a couple of weeks ago, and his tag match with Roman Reigns this Sunday at Extreme Rules, it’s not exactly hard to guess that he’ll be at SummerSlam next month as well, and probably having a singles match. Although we once thought the Dead Man had retired from wrestling after his match against Reigns at WrestleMania 33, he seems to be ready to put some time in these days.

We can say pretty much for sure now that the Undertaker will indeed have a match at SummerSlam. It started with local advertising in Toronto touting a match between the Undertaker and Drew McIntyre for the show, which happens in that city on August 11. According to Dave Meltzer at the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, however, Drew McIntyre is not the current plan for who Taker will face at SummerSlam. He did confirm, however, that the Undertaker will be at SummerSlam and have a match against someone. Meltzer didn’t name any more likely opponents, and it’s hard to imagine who a better choice would be, especially if it’s part of the same storyline where Taker and Reigns are facing off against McIntyre and his boss Shane McMahon. On the other hand, I don’t think any of us will be surprised if it ends up being a match between Taker and Shane, who previously fought at WrestleMania 32, just after Shane’s return to the company.
