Comedian Michael Che made his much-anticipated debut as a Daily Show correspondent last night. The former SNL writer’s first assignment: an update “from Syria.”
Che opened with a sobering report in a valiant attempt to bring some journalistic integrity to the program. It didn’t take long for longtime correspondent Aasif Mandvi, sensing a serious threat, to step in and protect his turf using the show’s preferred currency: immature puns.
