Kevin Connolly and Kevin Dillon dropped by Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live last night to promote the Entourage movie that’s being released next week, and host Andy Cohen brought up a topic of endless fascination: Jeremy Piven’s highly suspect “mercury poisoning” that led to him drop out of a Broadway production of Speed-the-Plow. Dillon was not taking the bait because he apparently already got in trouble with Piven for making jokes about it on the red carpet — which I have an extremely difficult time believing — but Connolly was willing to open up.
According to Connolly, he thinks it’s unlikely that Piven lied about mercury poisoning because it’s too inventive of a thing to lie about. That’s literally his entire reasoning. So, if Piven really just wanted to get out of the play, he would have said that he had mono or his grandmother died or the dog ate his script. Welp, I know I’m convinced.
