As we’ve covered fairly extensively, the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight arrived in a pretty disastrous state. It was so bad, Warner Bros. made the rare choice to remove it from sale altogether. That said, Warner Bros. and developer Rocksteady Studios have released patches for those who bought Arkham Knight on PC before it was pulled, and apparently things have improved enough that some folks are sticking with it.
Another benefit of the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight, is that it allows for mods. One such mod currently making the rounds lets you take to the streets and bust some skulls as Bruce Wayne’s perpetually fretful butler/replacement father figure, Alfred. You can check out Alfie taking out the trash, at the top of this post.
I’d totally be into a Batman game that actually lets you play as Alfred. Obviously he’s no Batman, but in the comics he has a background in the British army and spy service, and can be a bit of a badass in his own right. Maybe if Alfred was allowed to hit the streets and release some tension, he wouldn’t have to call you up every five minutes to check you’re not doing something dangerous.
