Robert Piazza and Christa Slayton met last year at a Mario Kart 8 tournament at their local Pennsylvania Game Stop. When they got engaged in October, they decided to have their wedding ceremony in that same store, with a Legend of Zelda theme.
Piazza was dressed as Link and Slayton wore a Princess-Zelda-inspired wedding dress. Even the guests were in costume. The reception was of course catered with Zelda-themed cakes, and there was a Super Smash Brothers tournament in honor of how the couple met. According to the Go Nintendo podcast, guests were provided with goodie bags from Nintendo that included Zelda playing cards, Master Sword candies, and paper Majora’s Masks.
As far as location weddings go, this one is definitely cuter than the couples who get married at Waffle House. That’s couples, plural. I can’t believe my legacy is that I’ve been to more than one Waffle House wedding.
