Ready to rock out to Bowie, continue to be utterly baffled by the plot, and sneak around a huge open world? That’s what we’re doing today with Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
This is, of course, the fifth and quite possibly last game in the Metal Gear Solid series; Konami has gotten just a little, uh, hostile to its console gaming division over the last few years, and it appears they’ve driven Hideo Kojima away from the company for good. How the series would continue without Kojima’s specific, if oddball, vision is a question I’m not sure anybody wants the answer to.
But, by all accounts, Kojima has delivered a masterpiece for his final entry in the series, although apparently you will spend a lot of time in bed. Will the first two hours of the game actually involve any sort of identifiable gameplay? Or will it all just be one very long cutscene? Let’s find out!
Since I ragged on Jimmy Kimmel, I’m expecting a few new visitors to the stream, so here’s how it works: You can either stream the game at Twitch.tv. That will be the best location to make fun of me. Or, if you’d prefer, you can watch it below. We’ll be streaming from 2:50 p.m. EST to 4:50 p.m. EST. Join us, won’t you?
