Sony’s video game division has a bit of a thing for Ellen Page. They have a game starring Page on the way (Beyond: Two Souls) and just released another one (The Last of Us) featuring a main character that looks and sounds exactly like a Juno-era version of her.
It’s just…odd. Why would Sony go out of their way to get Page for Beyond: Two Souls while at the same time creating a doppelganger of her for another one of their major games? Did they want Page for The Last of Us but couldn’t bring themselves to ask because they didn’t think the game was arty enough?
Well, guess what? Ellen Page just discovered The Last of Us exists, and she’s not too happy…
When asked about her resemblance to the character Ellie from The Last of Us during a recent Reddit AMA, Page had this to say…
“I guess I should be flattered that they ripped off my likeness, but I am actually acting in a video game called Beyond Two Souls, so it was not appreciated.”
Hmmm, sounds like Sony just conveniently forgot to tell Page about The Last of Us, since it appears as if she doesn’t realize the game is published by the same people publishing Beyond: Two Souls.
Sony, Sony, Sony — it’s time to just tell Ellen how you feel or move on, because this is getting hard to watch.
