Your Friday Drinks Include Festivus Booze, The Official Golden Globes Cocktail, And Some Holiday-Themed Rum Classics

AIRING OF GRIEVANCES — Henry’s

In honor of the beloved Seinfeld holiday, “Festivus,” Henry’s manager Drew Hamm created ‘The Airing of Grievances.’ The bar — located in Chicago’s River North neighborhood — will also be hosting an entire themed party on December 23 (complete with a traditional Festivus pole).

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Rittenhouse Rye
  • 3/4 oz Carpano Antica sweet vermouth
  • 1/2 oz Ancho Reyes chili liqueur

Directions:

  • stir
  • served up in a Nick & Nora glass
  • garnished with spicy beef jerky

DARK ORCHARD — Hyde Sunset Kitchen + Cocktails

Ingredients:

  • 1.75oz Glen Livet Single Malt Scotch
  • 1.5oz Freshly Pressed Apple Cider
  • 0.5oz Lemon Juice
  • 0.5oz Ginger Syrup
  • Pinch of Cinnamon

Directions:

  • Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
  • Shake well and strain into a Rocks glass.
  • Garnish with an apple fan and cinnamon.

MOËT RUBY RED — The official cocktail of the Golden Globes by Karen Grill

Ingredients:

  • 3/4oz lemon juice
  • 3/4oz Tarragon, Raspberry, Citrus Shrub
  • 1oz Vodka
  • 2.5oz Moët & Chandon Imperial

Directions:

  • Pour the shrub, lemon juice and vodka over ice in a white wine glass.
  • Top with champagne and garnish with fresh tarragon and a lemon twist.

For the Shrub:

  • 2 cups raspberry purée
  • 2 cups apple cider vinegar
  • 4 cups cane sugar
  • 1 lemon peel
  • 4 sprigs of tarragon
  • Bring ingredients to a simmer on a stovetop, then remove from heat and let cool.

BAKED APPLE — by Isaac Grillo for Afrohead Rum

Ingredients:

  • 1.25 oz Afrohead Premium Aged Dark Rum
  • 2-3 oz apple cider
  • 1 oz ginger beer

Directions:

  • Build all ingredients on ice in rocks glass
  • Garnish with apple chip or candied ginger

CINNAMON SPICE AND EVERYTHING NICE OLD FASHIONED — by Isaac Grillo for Afrohead Rum

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Afrohead Premium Aged Dark Rum
  • 0.25 oz all spice simple syrup
  • 3-5 dashes of aromatic bitters

Directions:

  • Stir all ingredients and strain over large format ice on rocks glass
  • Garnish with star anise

PINEAPPLE PUNCH — by Isaac Grillo for Afrohead Rum

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Afrohead Premium Aged Dark Rum
  • 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 3/4 oz clove simple syrup
  • 2oz pineapple juice

Directions:

  • Shake and strain ingredients over fresh ice in a Collins glass. Garnish with grated nutmeg.

HOTTIE CHOCO TODDY — by Isaac Grillo for Afrohead Rum

Ingredients:

  • 1.25 oz Afrohead Premium Aged Dark Rum
  • 3-4 oz hot chocolate
  • 1 cinnamon stick

Directions:

  • Build all ingredients in mug
  • Alternately: Leave cinnamon stick to steep while hot chocolate comes to room temp, then shake ingredients and serve over ice.
