Well, WrestleMania 31 is only three days away, so you know what that means. It’s time to start speculating about what’s going to happen at WrestleMania 32!
In the wake of Brock re-signing with with WWE, the internet’s been buzzing about what the next year of WWE programming may look like, and the most recent issue of the Wrestling Observer was happy to throw a generous amount of fuel on the fire with some juicy rumors about WWE’s future plans.
WrestleMania 32 will held in Dallas at Cowboys Stadium, and WWE hopes to pack the arena and break pro wrestling attendance records. In order to do that, they’re looking to bring back any legend they can get their hands on. The exception would be Ric Flair, as they don’t want to go back on his retirement angle (TNA totally doesn’t exist/count).
The plan is to have Brock Lesnar main-event again next year, likely against The Rock, who has already teased the possibility in interviews. Other choices to face Brock are Cena and The Undertaker, although Rock is said to be the top choice.
Speaking of The Undertaker, there are tentative plans to make WrestleMania 32 his big send off. The show is in Texas, and Taker probably only has another match or two in him, so it would make sense. No word on who he might face, but a Sting vs. Undertaker retirement match would seem to be the most logical choice.
Now, what about little ol’ Roman Reigns? What will he be up to for the next year? Well, according to the Observer, the plan was to have him feud with Seth Rollins if he won the title, but him winning the title isn’t a certainty any more. According to Roman himself, he’d like to have a three-way with his former Shield brethren at next year’s WrestleMania…
“It should be a Triple Threat match. The Shield reunites to fight each other for one more night.”
What about a match with his cousin, The Rock? Reigns doesn’t see that one happening.
“Where I’m at right now, with our family ties, I don’t really see that happening, but if it did happen it would be in WWE. Going out on a limb right now, I’d say most likely not – but this is WWE, everything can change.”
There you have it, the rough outline of next year’s Mania is already forming. Brock/Rock, an Undertaker retirement match, possible a Shield three-way, and lots of old dudes kicking around. Of course, this could all change. Really, we’re just having some fun speculating here, so why not pile on? What do you think will happen at next year’s WrestleMania? What do you want to happen?
