Today’s WWE superstars are just too darn polished. It doesn’t matter what kind of crazy, evil character they play on WWE TV, once they hit the talk show/promotional circuit, they’re all genial, well-spoken, puppy-huggers. What happened to the days when talk-show hosts recoiled in terror when wrestlers appeared on their show, and the WWE Champion was running around choking guys out on live TV?
Thankfully, we still have Dean Ambrose, last defender of kayfabe. The dude showed up on a local Louisiana morning show yesterday and proceeded to amuse and slightly freak everybody out by bringing his full wrestling character to the set. Actually, he was significantly weirder on the show than he’s allowed to be on WWE TV. Or maybe the whole “Lunatic Fringe” act just comes off as more legitimately strange when done beside regular, non-wrestling folk.
Highlights include Ambrose talking at a completely inappropriate volume throughout, admitting he’s a Heyman guy, sneering at The Rock during word association and totally upstaging the poor weather man. You can check out the first part of Ambrose’s appearance above, and the second part below.

Kudos to the KATC morning-show guy for keeping a mostly straight face through that train ride through Wackytown. He’s a stronger man than I.
