On Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, the Divas Revolution team of Paige, Charlotte and Becky Lynch was named “The Submission Sorority.” They’re women who get along and finish people with submission holds — the PTO, the Figure-Eight and the Disarmer, respectively — so it made sense. Unfortunately, Submission Sorority is also the name of a series of porn videos called HazeHer, produced by BangBros, about college girls hazing pledges in extremely non-TV-PG ways.
Apparently, having a porn series name broadcast as a searchable phrase on cable television’s longest-running weekly episodic television program does wonders for business. BangBros is publicly thanking WWE for the publicity, per a statement shared on TMZ Sports.
Social media went nuts after ‘Raw’ — some people thought it was hilarious, but others were pissed kids could be exposed to porn.
BangBros traffic analyst Delilah McGinnis says their web traffic shot up 56 percent overnight, and they saw a 35 percent rise in subscriptions.
TMZ also mentions that the company will be sending WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon a “thank you” basket. We hope it arrives before the Submission Sorority is hastily renamed the “Submission Sisters.” There’s probably no porn about submissive sisters, right?
WWE should respond to the controversy by renaming King Barrett’s finish the “Fart Hammer.”
