MMA and wrestling fans were shocked to see that Brock Lesnar was officially returning to the octagon for a fight at UFC 200. The rumors had been circulating for a bit, with plenty of teases since Lesnar returned to WWE a few years back. With UFC making it official ahead of Saturday night’s event, WWE released an official statement that confirms his status with the company and his return date:
Brock Lesnar remains under contract to WWE, however, he has been granted a one-off opportunity to compete at UFC 200. Following this milestone event on July 9, Brock will return to WWE for SummerSlam on Sunday, August 21, live on WWE Network.
No reason for @BrockLesnar to leave @WWE to do a @ufc fight. None. Smart of @WWE let Brock do his thing. It's all about the money for all.

As had been stated earlier, this is a great promotional opportunity for WWE ahead of SummerSlam and you can expect to hear a lot about Lesnar’s destructive streak in WWE in the build to the event. All that is left is finding out who the opponent will be come July 9th. How about Tank Abbott? How about The Undertaker? How about The Mountain from Game of Thrones? Honestly, it could be anybody and the thing would sell tickets. The Beast is back for a big show…which, hey, how about The Big Show? Right??
