There are a lot of wrestling podcasts out there. Like, a lot. But Matt Hardy — sorry, Broken Matt Hardy — appearing on Talk is Jericho? Now that’s pretty much a must-listen. If you somehow haven’t been keeping up with Broken Matt Hardy, he recently used a dilapidated boat as a shield before setting his brother on fire and ate an Impact Zone fan. His “future of the English language” accent and fright-wig hairstyle have been polarizing fans, but at least he’s having a lot of fun with it.
However, the Broken One doesn’t think every wrestling company would have the extraordinary xylophones needed to actually put his particular brand of madness on the air every week. He explained this to Chris Jericho, calling out Vince McMahon by name. (Transcription via Wrestling Inc.)
” … I think it’s very important and very vital for Impact Wrestling to find their way, find their own identity. And my broken universe is something different that has never been seen anywhere else before. I can tell you this: my broken universe, Mr. McMahon, would be terrified of it. He would be afraid to let me go there. He wouldn’t let me shoot the fireworks on his show or he wouldn’t let me burn up my brother, Nero. But it is time to go to a different place, a different time, and that is what Impact Wrestling must do to succeed. That is the only way TNA can truly grow, is to find its own identity.”
It’s kind of true. They wouldn’t let him shoot fireworks or set his brother on fire.
WWE attempted something almost exactly like The Final Deletion when they sent the New Day to the Wyatts’ compound, and that was pretty much a disaster that was never spoken of again. They’re using new camera angles and more vignettes in the wake of the brand split, but things still look way more like Raw and Smackdown than they look like Lucha Underground or whatever it is the Hardys are doing.
In other Matt Hardy news, it looks like he’s now dating one of his Vanguard drones, which is also acting as his chauffeur.

I honestly hope this Broken Universe saga never ends.
