It’s been almost a week since CM Punk chalked up his first official UFC loss against Mickey Gall. Despite the outcome, Punk’s debut earned the respect of people like Daniel Bryan and Conor McGregor. Oh, and he also earned half a million dollars, so it can’t be all that bad.
In the end, however, it was CM Punk dishing out words of advice to his relatively inexperienced opponent. The latest clip from UFC’s The Thrill and the Agony reveals the words of encouragement Gall received from the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion:
Listen to me. Don’t ever say you don’t belong, okay? You always belong. You’ve got to believe in yourself. You’re obviously a better man than I am, okay. Don’t ever f*cking short yourself. Everybody else wants to short you. You know, I believed in myself. You’ve got to believe in yourself as much as I believe in me.
Despite already proving himself to be one of UFC’s biggest draws, Punk will have to believe in himself a little bit more if he wants Dana White to book his next fight. Maybe he could mend some fences and ask former WWE Superstar Ryback a thing or two about The Secret.
