It’s hard to watch the CM Punk versus Mickey Gall fight from UFC 203 and call it anything other than a one-sided beatdown that would end the same way 99 times out of 100. Punk didn’t get one bit of offense off before Gall speared him onto the canvas, hit him with some ugly ground and pound, and choked him out in just over two minutes.
The internet had a lot of fun making fun of CM Punk for daring to believe, but one man that tipped his hat to Punk (while dissing all of Punk’s former colleagues) was none other than Conor McGregor.
“Fair play to him because he got in there and fought,” McGregor told TMZ on the way into a nightclub after the event. “Not a lot of people do. Not a lot of people have the balls to make that walk. So fair play. He got his ass whupped. God bless, but he got his ass whupped. But those WWE guys are straight p*ssies, I tolds you all. But he isn’t. He got in there and fought. So fair play to him, respect.”
Many of past and present WWE superstars were pretty kind to Punk on social media after his loss, perhaps thinking ‘There but for the grace of not being offered a seven-figure payday by the UFC go I.’ But now Conor is using this opportunity to drag them back down into the trenches and fight some more with him on Twitter. Leading up to his big rematch with Nate Diaz, McGregor repeatedly called “that bunch of dweebs Vince McMahon has over there at the moment” a bunch of “messed-up p*ssies.”
So it seems like even though the rest of the WWE didn’t sign on the dotted line like CM Punk, they’ll still have to endure a one-sided beatdown from a UFC guy.
