In a new interview with British GQ, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson dropped some knowledge on us that we wouldn’t be prepared for even if you’d given us time to brace for it. Yes, The Rock has gone on record as saying he has thought about pursuing a career in politics.
We shall tell our children about this day. The day He Who Saved Us revealed his master plan.
“I’ll be honest, I haven’t ruled politics out. I’m not being coy when I say that, but at the moment I am not sure. I can’t deny that the thought of being governor, the thought of being president, is alluring. And beyond that, it would be an opportunity to make a real impact on people’s lives on a global scale. But there are a lot of other things I want to do first.”
Let me be the first to say that if The Rock has the slightest inkling in becoming President of the United States, whatever paltry “other things” he wants to do can take a backseat, because we need him in politics as soon as humanly possible.
The election is still like five months away, right? The Rock can probably win a plurality of delegates before then. In whatever party. Hell, The Rock should run as an independent. HE WILL WIN. What sane human wouldn’t vote for THE ROCK over literally any other candidate?
Well, I guess this most recent election season has shown us that sanity is in short supply these days. Hurry up and break into politics, The Rock. America needs you now, more than ever.
