Jeff Hardy Wants To End His Career With A Main Event Match At WrestleMania

Jeff Hardy is currently involved an absolutely bonkers feud with his brother Matt on TNA that has involved Matt throwing a fake baby at him. The feud will result in a Full Metal Mayhem match at Sunday night’s Slammiversary, but the former WWE and TNA world champion has a different hardcore match in mind for how he wants to end his career.

In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Hardy said he wants to end his career going out on top in a Hell in a Cell match at WrestleMania.

“I know I’m getting close to the end,” said Hardy. “I can feel my body telling me something. I don’t know how much longer I’ve got, and naturally I would love to end with a WrestleMania and I would love to have a Hell in a Cell. That’s something I’ve always wanted to do, and I’ve always wanted to headline ‘Mania.”

Hardy said he was inspired by what he saw from Shane McMahon during his Hell in a Cell bout at WrestleMania 32 against The Undertaker, but the former ladder match specialist says he thinks he could do better.

“Watching Shane, I knew I could top that. Every time I watched Shane, I was inspired to do something better…I’m planning something big for Sunday. I’ll take my own path and do it my own way.”

There’s a lot of other great tidbits from Hardy in there such as how he was initially inspired by Mick Foley, how his brother Matt has based his latest character off of shows like Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead, and how a moment of hesitation on his part caused his gruesome dirt bike injury.
