It seems like we know so many things about the breakup of John Cena and Nikki Bella, and yet so little. We know it ruined a WrestleMania Moment. We know John Cena is the one who ended it. We know Brie Bella is still cool with him, despite that. We know the breakup will be shown on Total Bellas. We’ve heard Cena has not been doing well since the breakup, which you might have guessed if you follow him on Instagram:
However, we didn’t know why it came to be that true love tapped out, presumably to an STF, in April 2018, C.E. At least, not until now! A source told People that John Cena broke up with Nikki Bella not because she wanted kids and he didn’t, not because she wanted to get married and he didn’t, not because the whole relationship was a work all along, but because he was too stressed out by doing publicity for their wedding. The source says:
“The wedding got bigger than the both of them- originally, it was going to be this small, intimate, family-oriented gathering with just the nearest and dearest. Then it blew up in to a televised special and this whole ornate thing and it was just too much… You’re dealing with a guy who grew up poor, without a dad, and with a history of commitment issues- non-stop wedding publicity and a whole big extravaganza was bound to rattle him, and it did. They got away from what made them work, which is the bond that’s just between John and Nicole- not John Cena, WWE Superstar, and Nikki Bella of the Bella Twins. They need to regroup, and they both want to do that.”
Does this mean that John and Nikki’s recent breakup is only a roadblock on the road to their marriage and will soon be defunct, much like the WWE Road To WrestleMania PPV, Roadblock? Only time, and possibly the upcoming season of Total Bellas, will tell.
