If you’ve been missing John Cena on WWE TV over the past six months, we’ve got some good news. The 15-time champion just announced when he’s returning to Raw: May 30.

They said the surgery recovery time is 9 months, but I’m ready to go in 5. This #MemorialDay Cena is back on #Raw. #NeverGiveUp

Cena originally took a hiatus from WWE TV back in October for personal reasons, and to film the reality show American Grit. He made a brief return at the very end of the year, but was out again almost immediately due to a long-overdue shoulder surgery. Aside from a surprise appearance at WrestleMania 32 to help The Rock fend off an attack from the Wyatt Family, Cena has been absent from WWE TV. Non-Total Divas division.
While it’s not certain what Cena will do when he returns to the active roster — another run with the United States Championship, please — he’s got a lot of options. He’s said in interviews that he wants a match with Stone Cold Steve Austin, there’s the long-rumored WrestleMania match with The Undertaker to build for WrestleMania 33 in Orlando, and Roman Reigns recently called him out on Today, which is the pro wrestling morning show equivalent of tugging on Superman’s cape. If none of those things happen, Alberto Del Rio still needs to be Attitudinally Adjusted into the sun.
