The Undertaker made his WWE debut on November 22, 1990, at Survivor Series. This year’s event — also happening on November 22 — will celebrate the Deadman’s 25-year tenure with the company. To celebrate, WWE Network is having an “Undertaker Week,” and the YouTube channel is full of Taker-related gems, like footage from his debut and this ridiculous, sometimes hilarious mashup of sports, TV and wrestling stars “singing” his entrance theme. No, it doesn’t have any words. Yes, they do the gong noises.
The clip features everyone from Sasha Banks and The New Day — thank you for that — to the Jacksonville Jaguars, NBA star John Wall and professional SummerSlam-ruiner Jon Stewart, all vocalizing the classic Jim Johnston monsterized remake of Chopin’s Funeral March. Nobody comes close to the Stardust and The Ascension version, though. “Stardust and The Ascension” is an incredible name for a band, if you’re taking notes.
Undertaker should actually enter to this music on Sunday, and spend the entire walk to the ring looking back over his shoulder, making sure he’s hearing things correctly. I hope they do a version for Kane when he reaches 25 years, because his theme’s a lot easier to sing. It’s just fire noises, Paul Bearer moaning and nana nana nana naaa naaa, nana nana nana naaa naaa.
