On last week’s WWE Raw, Kane was involved in a show-long storyline after being crushed under an upturned announce station stage, courtesy of resident flip-over-er Braun Strowman. At the show’s end, Kane had both been taken to a local medical facility and had left said local medical facility against doctor’s orders.
Many assumed the current Kane saga wouldn’t be running very far past Royal Rumble, were — exactly as predicted — Kane was the person to take the pin in the big WWE Universal Championship Triple Threat Match against Brock Lesnar and Strowman. And even in that match, Kane was mostly just trying to not be the guy getting punched in the head for real.
Kane is also very much still campaigning to be the real-life mayor of Knox County, Tennessee, under his less-believable alter ego of “Glenn Jacobs.” And as it turns out, he might be focusing his efforts on that campaign for the time being.
Going off of WWE’s official events page, Kane has been pulled from all advertised live event appearances for the remainder of the month of February. As of Monday afternoon, he was still listed for Monday’s episode of Raw, but he did not appear on the television broadcast, and despite losing the first Elimination Chamber qualifier, he was not listed as one of the participants in next week’s second chance Fatal 4-Way for the sixth Chamber spot.
Perhaps tellingly, “Glenn Jacobs” has been announced for a live Talk Is Jericho in Knoxville on Feb. 16, which is branded with the Jacobs mayoral campaign logo. So it looks like he’s back to pounding the pavement in search of votes for the upcoming election.
Kane is listed for all live events and television in March, with a scheduled WWE Universal Championship Match against Lesnar advertised for Saturday, March 3 in Chicago. We’ll see if he pops up on television between now and March, but for now it looks like he might be just regular old Glenn Jacobs for the month of February.
