The INEVITABLE finally came to FREW-EESHUN at the thirty-third Mania of Wrestling, as the EXTRAORDINARY Hardy Brothers returned and made all other WWE Raw tag teams OBSOLETE. They completed their Expedition of Gold by capturing the Raw Tag Team Championship, and retained the titles the next evening. They may not fully be the Broken Hardys, but dammit, we’ll take it.
The erstwhile Ring of Honor tag champs were perhaps always destined for WWE since the moment they parted ways with Impact Wrestling, but they still took some independent bookings in the month of April, almost certainly before they inked their WWE deals. To their credit, WWE continues to be super cool about the whole situation, as they’re letting the Hardys keep those dates.
.@WWE is graciously allowing us to fulfill our previously booked dates-
4/8 @IWCwrestling
4/21 & 4/22 @HouseofHardcore
4/29 @PWS_Wrestling_— MATT HARDY (@MATTHARDYBRAND) April 5, 2017
So it looks like you still have a handful of solid chances to experience the Hardys before they’re whisked away to WWE full-time. This weekend, April 8, they head to International Wrestling Cartel in Pittsburgh, where they will challenge the IWC tag champs The Fraternity.
Then, on April 21 and 22, they’ll wrestle for House of Hardcore (which airs on FloSlam) in New Jersey. The main event of April 24 show will pit “Broken” Matt Hardy against the promotion’s owner, Tommy Dreamer, in a “NJ Delete Street Fight.” The following night, the Broken Hardys will once again be in the main event, as they take on the team of Dreamer and Bully Ray.
And their final independent date will be for Pro Wrestling South, in Tennessee, on 4/29. The Hardys will face off against the team of Crazzy Steve and Dax Cable
So if you live in one of these states, you might want to treat yourself to a ticket to one of these shows. Don’t classify yourself as obsolete.
