Cancel WWE Network movement? What movement? WWE Network just hit a million subscribers and everything is totally fine, right? Everyone was super happy with that Royal Rumble finish, right? Well, just in case, WWE wants you to have a month of free access leading in to WrestleMania.
Due to the tremendous response from fans to the free November promotion, WWE will again offer a free month of WWE Network to new subscribers during February in advance of its biggest event of the year, WrestleMania 31 on Sunday, March 29. During the month of February, subscribers will have access to all of WWE Network’s programming, including a live podcast hosted by “Stone Cold” Steve Austin this Monday, February 2 featuring Triple H, and the all-new, live pay-per-view event WWE Fast Lane on Sunday, February 22. – WWE Network
The selling point here obviously isn’t the free network, but this new, mysterious pay-per-view Fast Lane. Before it was removed, its Wikipedia page listed John Cena vs. Big Show in a Race Car Match. I don’t know what that is, but I like to imagine it’s just Cena and Big Show circling each other for fifteen minutes making racecar noises before Cena attitudinally adjusts Big Show into a vat of motor oil. Other matches could include Rusev and Swagger in a checkered flag-waving contest, or the Brickyard 500 tribute where Vince McMahon just throws actual bricks at NXT superstars. How about an I Quit match to see who can drive behind Pat Patterson the longest? “I can’t do it anymore, Chioda! I’ve gotta get out from behind him! I’ve gotta get in the…FAST LANE.”
Why I don’t work for WWE Creative I’ll never know.
