A few weeks ago, we shared the initial 2016 Royal Rumble betting odds from Sky Bet, which had Brock Lesnar as the clear pick for the winner of the Royal Rumble match. A lot has changed since then; Roman Reigns is now the #1 entrant and being forced to defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the match, the McMahons are pulling one of WWE’s most obvious swerves in years, and previous match favorites like John Cena are on the shelf with injury. What does that mean for your bet? It means that the swerve is what matters, and WWE COO Triple H is the new odds-on favorite.
That’s per the folks at Bovada, who sent us the Rumble’s updated Vegas betting odds. Here’s how it breaks down:
Triple H – 6/5
Roman Reigns – 9/5
Brock Lesnar – 3/1
Bray Wyatt – 15/1
The Rock – 16/1
Daniel Bryan – 18/1
Dean Ambrose – 20/1
Kevin Owens – 20/1
The Undertaker – 25/1
Rusev – 33/1
Sheamus – 33/1
Braun Strowman – 33/1
AJ Styles – 33/1
Ryback – 35/1
Finn Balor – 40/1
Cesaro – 40/1
Dolph Ziggler – 40/1
Alberto Del Rio – 50/1
Chris Jericho – 50/1
Randy Orton – 50/1
Vince or Shane McMahon- 65/1
Kalisto – 66/1
Neville – 75/1
The Big Show – 80/1
Mark Henry – 95/1
Curtis Axel, Big E, Luke Harper, Kane, Kofi Kingston, Titus O’Neil, Erick Rowan, R-Truth, Stardust and Heath Slater are all sitting at 100/1. El Torito, Los Matadores, Bo Dallas, Fandango, Goldust, Tyson Kidd, The Miz, Alex Riley, Adam Rose, Zack Ryder, Damien Sandow and Darren Young are all at 150/1. There’s a 150/1 bet for Shinsuke Nakamura, which would be incredible to win on a number of levels, and a 150/1 bet for King Barrett, which would make you the stupidest person of all-time.
There’s also a 200/1 bet for Stone Cold E.T., which is a great use of your money if you’re on drugs. It’s also still a better bet for Royal Rumble winner than King Barrett.
So, if Vegas odds have Triple H as the most likely winner, does WWE still go through with the swerve? There’s nothing they seem to dislike more than a plot point everybody sees coming. Vince should put a billion dollars on Alex Riley, let A-Ry win the Rumble and destroy the chance of Vegas messing up his story twists forever.
