Stop this train, I want to get off.
We have yet another injury of a top WWE star to report as Sasha Banks is out of action due to an “unknown injury.” This is per the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, who may as well change their name to the Wrestling Shoulder Injury Update. Banks is a fan (and on the main roster, cult) favorite, and had such a good 2015 that she was in three of our top 10 best matches of the year. Her most recent match was a win over Becky Lynch on the December 28 episode of Raw.
Recapping even the recent string of WWE injuries would take up an entire page, from John Cena and Randy Orton having shoulder surgeries that are expected to cause them to miss WrestleMania all the way down to King Barrett’s nerve problems and Sin Cara’s dislocated shoulder. Nikki Bella’s trying to avoid surgery. Seth Rollins is still months away from returning. It wouldn’t surprise us if WWE signed a batch of stars from New Japan Pro Wrestling and they all showed up with blown-out knees and shoulders.
Hopefully this is closer to “Sasha’s missing a few shows with a sprained something” than “Sasha’s missing half a year with that same depressing injury we always report.” We wish The Boss the speediest possible recovery. She’s gotta be healthy for when Nakamura shows up, after all.
