Sheamus has just recently made his (movie) acting debut in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, but it looks like he’s been bit by the bug because he’s ready to dive in with both feet. Fella. While speaking with fans at Wizard World in Philadelphia, he revealed that he wants a shot at playing a legendary Spider-Man baddie. And of course, it doesn’t hurt that Spider-Man and his rogue’s gallery are now an official part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“I want to be a part of the Marvel Universe,” Sheamus said. “I’m a big fan of the Marvel comics and The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones, but I would love to be a part of the Marvel Universe.”
“No offense to Topher Grace but he just didn’t look like Eddie Brock,” Sheamus said. “He looked like Eddie Brock had been on a hunger strike for a few weeks.”
No offense to Sheamus, but he ALSO doesn’t really look like Eddie Brock? Weirdly, this isn’t the first time Sheamus has expressed his interest in being Venom. The campaign is now officially in full swing.
It’s strange, though: I feel like Sheamus would actually be a pretty awesome Venom. Imposing, if nothing else. I also think he’d make a primo character on The Walking Dead. Or Game of Thrones!
Heck, the guy just wants to work, Hollywood. Throw him a bone, already. If for no other reason than to take his mind off of fighting his co-stars.
