CM Punk Addressed Sheamus Taking His Shot To Play Rocksteady In ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2’

As we reported a couple months back, Sheamus is going to be playing Rocksteady in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 because, sure, why not? Rocksteady suddenly being Irish makes about as much sense as anything else in the Ninja Turtles universe. Well, interestingly, Rocksteady nearly had more of a Chicago accent. Yes, CM Punk almost played a mutant rhinoceros after leaving WWE.

The Chicago Tribune recently grabbed a quote from CM Punk about the situation…

“I just assumed Sheamus is a bigger dude, so they gave it to the big guy. It makes sense. They were looking for two big, muscly bouncer types. Sheamus fits the role. I think they end up getting mutated half way through. You didn’t hear that from me, though.”

If Punk sounds slightly bitter about how things went down, well, that’s partly because he’s bitter about most things, but also because this isn’t the first time he nearly lost an opportunity to The Celtic Warrior.

You can’t help but feel bad for Punk – Sheamus is a very big, obnoxious monkey to lug around on your back. That said, part of me kind of hopes the pattern continues and Sheamus is trying to throw legit Brogue Kicks in the Octagon by year’s end.
