Woken Matt Hardy Promises The Arrival Of The Broken Universe In WWE

In last week’s Best and Worst of Raw, Brandon Stroud pointed out that Woken Matt Hardy needs to do something besides laugh. In this week’s Raw Recap, I mentioned that he desperately needs some character-building vignettes featuring some of the elements that made everyone love the Broken gimmick in the first place. After all, he apparently has the legal right to use all of it now, which raises the question of what WWE might be waiting for.

Clearly others have been asking similar questions, including a guy in the front row of Raw, who held up a Spanish-language sign inquiring about the whereabouts of Señor Benjamin, the loyal gardener portrayed by Matt’s real life father in law, which got a reaction from Matt on his way to the ring.

Matt had more to say on Twitter, where he promised we haven’t seen the last of Señor Benjamin, or anyone else from the Broken Hardy Universe.

Over on his personal YouTube page, Matt has slowly been reintroducing some of the key players from the old Broken Universe, but it isn’t going to count in WWE until it’s on WWE television.

Whether Monday Night Raw will find room for the entire Hardy clan, or they’ll just be featured in some new online content is unclear, but either way it’ll be great to revisit that world. While we’re at it, here are some other things I’d like to see return in WWE:

8. Skarsgard, the dilapidated boat

7. Reby Hardy playing the piano, with one or both children strapped to her person

6. Reby throwing a fake baby through the air

5. The Lake of Reincarnation

4. Matt using landscaping for evil

3. Any use of fireworks as an offensive weapon

2. Vanguard-1 projecting realistic holograms

1. Jeff Hardy returning once he’s healed up, just so Matt can say that he knew Brother Nero would come

Now hurry up and expand the Woken universe already, goobers.
