With the recent influx of NXT talent to the main roster, it seems like the Wednesday night brand is in need of some new names to help usher in its, erm, New Era (sorry).
Recently we’ve seen guys like, No Way Jose, Eric Young and TM61 debut, and Andrade “Cien” Almas is coming this Wednesday at NXT TakeOver: The End. Still, there still feels like some spots that are available, and they could very well be filled in the near future by two current Ring of Honor talents.
The Wrestling Observer is reporting that WWE may very well have interest in both Roderick Strong and Moose, as their contracts are rumored to be ending soon in ROH.
Strong has been around forever in ROH and the indy scene, and while he certainly has his detractors, he’s no doubt improved in recent years and would match with the high-work-rate indy guy type that WWE seems to like to bring in to NXT. At 210-215 pounds, he would seem to fit in the Cruiserweight Classic if they sign him in time for that.
On the other hand, Moose, a former NFL player, still has a ways to go but has improved leaps and bounds since he started. He has scary athletic ability, and considering how much WWE likes guys of his size, it only seems a matter of time before Moose arrives in WWE. With him, the sky really is the limit if he can adapt to the WWE style and continue to improve in the ring.
While there’s no guarantee that either of them will be WWE bound, it’s certainly something to keep an eye on and would undoubtedly be a major blow to Ring of Honor should they both leave the company.
