Here are your quick and dirty, editorial-free WWE Raw results for night one of the Superstar Shake-up, April 16, 2018. The show featured a handful of new arrivals to Raw and was main-evented by a 10-man tag team match. Be sure to check back tomorrow for the full Best and Worst of Raw column.
WWE Raw Results:
1. United States Championship Match: Jeff Hardy defeated Jinder Mahal (c). Mahal and the United States Championship were the first Superstar Shake-up acquisitions for Raw. Hardy won with a Swanton Bomb to become the new United States Champion. After the match, No Way Jose taunted Mahal.
2. Bayley vs. Sasha Banks went to a no contest when the Riott Squad came over to Raw and attacked both women.
3. The Authors of Pain defeated Heath Slater and Rhyno. Again!
– Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn were guests on Miz TV as the two newest Raw superstars, despite competing against each other for a roster spot last week and neither winning. Kurt Angle interrupted to bring this up, but Zayn read an e-mail from Stephanie McMahon that said they belong on Raw. Angle welcomed them to Raw, then revealed that Daniel Bryan demanded Miz (without The Miztourage) return to Smackdown.
4. Bray Wyatt and Matt Hardy defeated The Revival. This was the mini-tournament finals to determine who’d face The Bar for the vacant Raw Tag Team Championship at the Greatest Royal Rumble. Hardy pinned Dash Wilder after an assisted Twist of Fate.
– Breezango appeared backstage to give The Bar citations for being Uggos.
– Kurt Angle and Ronda Rousey welcomed Natalya to Raw.
5. Ember Moon defeated Mickie James. Moon pinned James with an Eclipse.
– Dolph Ziggler returned to Raw. Titus Worldwide asked him to join their group, but were attacked by Ziggler’s new associate, former NXT Champion Drew McIntyre.
– Roman Reigns cut a promo about Brock Lesnar and the Greatest Royal Rumble, but was interrupted by Samoa Joe. They teased a confrontation, but Joe said he’d face Reigns at Backlash on his own time.
6. Natalya defeated Mandy Rose. Natalya won by submission with a Sharpshooter. Sonya Deville attacked Nattie after the match, but Ronda Rousey made the save.
– Baron Corbin is also on the Raw roster now!
7. Breezango defeated The Bar. Fandango pulled Sheamus off the ring apron in the middle of a tag, allowing Breeze to roll up and pin Cesaro for the upset win.
8. Finn Bálor, Seth Rollins, Braun Strowman, Bobby Lashley and Bobby Roode defeated Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, The Miz, Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas. Roode was the final Superstar to be shaken up. The Miztuorage refused to tag The Miz at the end of the match, leading to him taking a powerslam from Braun Strowman and losing the match.
