WWE fans were saddened early on Sunday night when Sasha Banks lost her WWE Women’s Championship to Charlotte at SummerSlam. The news isn’t getting any better for Banks fans, as Sasha might not be on television for the next several weeks after losing her title.
Wrestling Inc. reports that immediately after her match on Sunday night, Banks was pulled from all listings for Raw tapings and associated live events for the next month-plus. The first show that she appears to be advertised for at this time is in Moline, Ill., on September 23.
While many fans are assuming this means that Banks is going to begin serving a delayed suspension after dropping the title, a la Roman Reigns back in June, Mike Johnson from PWInsider.com is reporting that Banks is nursing injuries and needs the time off to recover. According to PWI, the decision was made a week or so ago to have Banks drop the title at SummerSlam.
Here’s hoping that no matter the reason for Banks’ absence, she returns to WWE soon, happy, healthy and ready to take back her Women’s Championship. Bayley is right around the corner, dammit. The wrestling world needs that rivalry to finally make it to the WWE main roster.
