We’ve now reached the point where pro wrestlers interacting with sharks in dangerous and ridiculous ways is totally a thing. First there was Brock Lesnar’s terrifying and obviously very real F5 to a shark to promote his match at SummerSlam back in 2011. In case you somehow missed it, let’s watch it again in all of its repetitive gif glory:
Former WWE Superstar Rob Van Dam took on a three-headed shark in the aptly-named ‘3-Headed Shark Attack’, because haha oh man of course he did. Chris Jericho was the first WWE performer to get in on the Sharknado craze when he (spoiler) got eaten by a shark in ‘Sharknado 3.’ See? Totally a thing.
Now, Seth Rollins will be the latest pro wrestler to get in on the action with a cameo in Syfy’s ‘Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens.’ The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion will play someone named AstroTech Lopez, retaining his real-life last name. Sadly, his real first name is Colby and not ASTROTECH, something we’re sure his parent are now regretting immensely. Rollins joins such illustrious names as Gilbert Gottfried, Steve Guttenberg (playing the major role of ‘Car Owner’), and a Chippendale’s dancer who defeats a shark by thrusting at it with his wang. Bless you, Sharknado franchise. Bless you.
