WWE Smackdown Live Results:
— The show opened with Kevin Owens’ music, and the United States Champion welcoming viewers to the new Kevin Owens show. He challenged anyone in the back, and Baron Corbin answered the challenge, and said he’s still owed a title shot. Sami Zayn then revealed he also had moved to Smackdown, and then AJ Styles announced he is staying on the blue brand. Daniel Bryan came out and said Owens is still scheduled to defend his title at Payback, but he made a No. 1 contender match between Styles, Corbin, and Zayn later in the show.
1. Randy Orton defeated Erick Rowan. This was a non-title match. Orton was distracted by Bray Wyatt appearing on the video screen, and Rowan hit him with the ring steps to draw the disqualification. Rowan hit Orton with a full nelson slam afterward.
2. Smackdown Tag Team Championship Match: The Usos (c) defeated American Alpha. The Usos won with a superkick and splash onto Chad Gable.
— After the match, the Shining Stars appeared and attacked American Alpha, signaling their move to Smackdown.
3. Mojo Rawley defeated Jinder Mahal. Mahal had announced his arrival to Smackdown and challenged Rawley on Twitter before Smackdown went on the air. Rob Gronkowski was once again at ringside for this match. Mahal threatened to get in his face once again, but Mojo was able to handle business, taking out Mahal and letting Gronk throw a beer in his face as payback for WrestleMania 33. Rawley hit his running punch and got the pinfall victory, then celebrated in the stands with the Gronkowskis.
