WWE Smackdown Live Results:

The show opened with Kevin Owens’ music, and the United States Champion welcoming viewers to the new Kevin Owens show. He challenged anyone in the back, and Baron Corbin answered the challenge, and said he’s still owed a title shot. Sami Zayn then revealed he also had moved to Smackdown, and then AJ Styles announced he is staying on the blue brand. Daniel Bryan came out and said Owens is still scheduled to defend his title at Payback, but he made a No. 1 contender match between Styles, Corbin, and Zayn later in the show.

1. Randy Orton defeated Erick Rowan. This was a non-title match. Orton was distracted by Bray Wyatt appearing on the video screen, and Rowan hit him with the ring steps to draw the disqualification. Rowan hit Orton with a full nelson slam afterward.

2. Smackdown Tag Team Championship Match: The Usos (c) defeated American Alpha. The Usos won with a superkick and splash onto Chad Gable.

— After the match, the Shining Stars appeared and attacked American Alpha, signaling their move to Smackdown.

3. Mojo Rawley defeated Jinder Mahal. Mahal had announced his arrival to Smackdown and challenged Rawley on Twitter before Smackdown went on the air. Rob Gronkowski was once again at ringside for this match. Mahal threatened to get in his face once again, but Mojo was able to handle business, taking out Mahal and letting Gronk throw a beer in his face as payback for WrestleMania 33. Rawley hit his running punch and got the pinfall victory, then celebrated in the stands with the Gronkowskis.

— Shane McMahon introduced the Smackdown women’s division and announced the two new members of that division, Tamina and Charlotte Flair.

4. Tye Dillinger defeated Aiden English. English was once again doing his original NXT gimmick of being a singer. Dillinger won by pinfall after hitting the Tye Breaker.

— Dolph Ziggler came to the ring to cut a promo complaining about how fans were getting shiny new toys in the Superstar Shake-Up, but this is still the brand that he built. He said when the shine wears off, he’ll still be there, doing what he does better than anyone else. He was interrupted by Shinsuke Nakamura. Ziggler said he doesn’t even know who Nakamura is. Nakamura introduced himself. Ziggler tried to superkick him, but Nakamura caught his leg and dumped him, then challenged him to bring it on. Ziggler opted to take his leave.

5. United States Championship No. 1 Contender Match: AJ Styles defeated Sami Zayn and Baron Corbin. Zayn caught Corbin with a Helluva Kick, but then got hit by the Phenomenal Forearm and pinned.
