In the past couple of weeks, photos have surfaced of the Undertaker being out in public and being photographed using some pretty serious-looking crutches to get around. After those photos made the rounds, wrestling fans basically flipped the f out and started wondering if this meant it was curtains for the Dead Man’s career. Not so fast, everyone.
According to PWInsider, Undertaker has undergone a recent hip surgery and is using the crutches during his recovery and rehab. PWI says the possibility of him working next year at WrestleMania 33 remains, as always, entirely up to him and whether he feels personally up to it.
Undertaker has not been on WWE television since his victory over Shane McMahon at this year’s WrestleMania. Should he and John Cena both be healthy when next year’s WrestleMania rolls around, that would be the last true big-event “dream match” at Mania for both men and could be a fitting retirement match for Undertaker. Of course, wrestling fans have been hypothesizing Undertaker’s “last” WrestleMania match for years, and it hasn’t happened yet.
Heck, the guy will probably still be wrestling once a year when we all have grandkids. He is an immortal biker mortician MMA zombie cowboy, after all.
