When UCLA takes on Pac-12 rivals Washington on November 15, the Bruins won’t be donning their signature powder blue uniforms that’s come to embody the kids of Westwood.
Instead, they’ll be rocking all-black kits, courtesy of their sponsor, adidas. The new uniforms feature all of Adidas’ top-of-the-line jersey technologies, including TECHFIT, CLIMACOOL, CrazyQuick and ShockWeb, but it’s the striking black that’s accented by little bursts of gold and UCLA’s shoulder pinstripes that sell the uniform as being better than some wild stab at an alternative look.
adidas calls the uniform “LA Midnight,” which seems dumb because Los Angeles has to be one of the most lit-up metropolitan areas in the world. But we’ll give them a pass because the uniform is very slick, and the adizero 5-Star gloves the players will rock–detailing a simple palm tree-line cityscape–nearly sells the whole shebang themselves.
Check the pictures and release trailer below. Bruins fans can pick up LA Midnight gear starting in October.
