You can now add two more names to the list of women claiming that comedian Bill Cosby sexually assaulted them. On Thursday, lawyer Gloria Allred held a press conference with the women in question, claiming that Cosby sexually assaulted them in the ’70s. One woman, Charlotte Fox, claims that the comedian assaulted her at the Playboy mansion before she was an extra in a film of his.
A second woman, who refrained from stating her name, claims that Cosby assaulted her following a dinner in which she entered a “trance-like state.” Because of the statute of limitations, Cosby cannot be tried for the alleged crimes. Gloria Allred represents over 20 women who claim that Cosby sexually assaulted them. Allred hopes that the women can find a sense of empowerment by speaking out against the alleged incidents:
“Although it is too late for them to take any legal action, because of the statute of limitations,” Allred said, “it is not too late for them to become empowered women who can speak out in the court of public opinion, and that is what they are doing today.”
A spokesperson for Cosby has not released a statement against these new allegations.
