That image of Spidey seemingly getting ready to bitchslap somebody with his webshooter is from the Japanese Spider-Man TV show, the most ill-conceived attempt to bring Spidey to a different medium until “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark” came along. And now, it’s up to one Japanese-American to save the day: George Takei, who shows off his moves and his prowess with the ladies in a new video.
OK, so what Takei is really doing is promoting his new Broadway show, “Allegiance”, which is decidedly not a comedy, being as it’s about the internment of 110,000 Japanese-Americans during World War II. It’s been getting spectacular reviews, and is widely considered practically nominated for a few Tony awards already, but somehow we don’t think it really brings the funny.
