The Rams really deserved to win this game. Well, the Rams defense deserved to win this game. Seattle’s offense mustered nothing except for a short field score and a long TD to Golden Tate that could have just as easily been an interception.
Kellen Clemens and Kellen Clemens alone cost St. Louis at least nine points. Greg Zuerlein didn’t help by missing a long field goal late in the game, but all the Rams needed was not throwing the ball away in the first half or one competent throw late in the red zone. Clemens delivered neither. The running game was there. St. Louis ran for more than 170 yards against one of the best defenses in the league.
Sucks for the Rams, but it makes the second half of the season all the more critical for Seattle. The Seahawks are a very vulnerable road team. Perhaps they’ll figure that out over the next two months, but for now, anything away from home looks to be a problem for them.
